The installation shows a journey from Frankfurt to San Francisco in 11 Hours 35 Minutes.
Objectivly speaking, the fastest mode of traveling between these two points in human history. For human`s subjective perception however,
an unbearibly long ordeal- at least of those of us whose perception of time has been successfuly manipulated by the madia`s
habit of chopping everything into minute bits.
The pictures mirror reality, no cuts, no manipulation only an accurate portrayal of the flight.
The audience is bound to be misled by its own subject viewing habits.
Those phases of the flight ( take off and landing ) that seem fastest, are actually the slowest.
Up in the clouds the flight subjectively looses all its speed , but not in reality.

My intention is to shed light upon the discrepancy between objectivity and subjectivity in this movie.

The film was recorded on Feb 22, 2002 from the Cockpit of a 747-400

Part of the reality is an exhibition of the flightdocumentation like weathercharts, enroute maps, flightplan weather reports etc.

This enables the viewer to synchronize his misleading subjectivity with the reality.
